We will accept any yarns in any quantity for the knitting program at the Albion Women’s Correctional Facility. Just bring your left-overs and/or unwanted yarn to the shop during normal business hours and we will be sure to pass it along to the knitting teachers from the facility. There are certain colors and supplies that may not be suitable for use at the Albion site and may be used at another charity knitting site. All of the garments made by the women are donated to charities in this country and around the world. See some of the garments made by the women in the photo at left.

TCCO is short for Twin cities Community Outreach. This organization owns and maintains the building that houses the North Tonawanda Clothes Closet, Meals-on Wheels, and the North Tonawanda Inter Church Food Pantry. Each of these organizations is charged a nominal rent, with all other expenses being paid by TCCO. Since this organization does not have a "product" to distribute, they are frequently overlooked when contributions are made. At the Elmwood Yarn Shop, in late fall, we will have already knit garments (all hand knit) that are made from discontinued yarns and/or patterns for sale. All of the proceeds will go to TCCO. Please note that our 2009 sale of garments was so successful that a $1500 check was sent to TCCO!!
